Is there a way to get different versions of smoothieware somewhere? Somewhere between Jan 2016 (worked at that time) and today there was an update of the edge-tree that broke functionality of my AZSMZ-mini Display. Updated today to the latest firmware and the display isn't working anylonger... Want to go back to the 'jan 2016' version...

Yupp, I have a maxed or board with 6 drivers and a mini with 4 drivers, both are swappable. See my profile for more information, and more in the coming weeks.

Actually, there is a 1380/10 gearbox with an additional 1/2 reduction via 2 sprockets and a chain. The motor driven at 20Hz equals one revolution for the pig every 18 seconds.

Are the thermistors on smoothieboard read by an AI (analog input) and supplied with 3.3V?

Can anyone with a AZSMZ-mini and a stepper on the 5th slot confirm, that the following pin-assignment is correct:

step_pin 2.8
dir_pin 2.13
en_pin 4.29

Thank you in advance!

Yeah, +ThantiK is mostly right. I think, V2.1 is the first 'real' final version.

Hey, I just discovered, that there is an 3d-printing contest on instructables.com. I took the opportunity to participate with my little printer DICE and figured, that maybe you want to support me with a vote on your own?!

Hello! My name is René, I am a 34 year old german electrical engineer and this is my very first instructable. In my spare time, I love to tinker with 3D-printers. In the last years I did build 3 different 3D-printer on my own, each (subjectively :D ) better than it's predecessor. Now, for my fourth printer, I did it different. I wanted to build a good looking printer that is appropriate and small on my desk. And I wanted it to be top notch!First,...

Now, as the DICE and its source-files are published and the documentation is about to get finished, I'm already looking out for my next project. As always, I plan to publish this with source-files, too. But I have some very different ideas and am torn between what to do first. So, I reach out to you, which one I should go for or "what do you want first?" :D
1. Big printer (30x30x30cm build volume) with dual/trippleI/quad/quint/penta/... extruder, with focus on working and upgradeable multi-extrusion. (gets build into my existing "Skimmy V3", I already know what to do, coreXY)
2. "good looking" and "high-qualitiy" normal-sized printer with 20x20x20cm build volume, with focus on look and quality (probably expensive :-/ I already know what to do, coreXY)
3. "cheap but prints like expensive" with focus on price-performance-ratio (I need to break me in... printer-type not set yet)

Indeed I found the heated chamber working well when printing big ABS parts.
Maybe it's 2013 but it's cheap, resistant, easy to work with (sanding, welding, painting...), doesn't destroy the nozzle... I prefer it to other materials, especially for prototyping and testing.

looks like statistically i might be on the loosing side, but here's some food for thought.

i'd go for a combination of a cheap but really good printer (i'll elaborate on that later) with an expandable/upgradable printing head (something along the lines of - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1446731 but with the addition of a dovetail slide to replace the whole extruder block held by magnets and some locking lever).
i think a cheap (~300$ maybe i think is doable) printer which produces high quality prints is doable today, especially sourcing parts from china (like mgn-12 imitations, or 10mm steel shafts etc...) i think it's time there would be an entry level corexy machine that does away with 8mm rods and has a stable bed (i've seen the triple lead screw ones, not what i mean).
there are some interesting problems to be solved here, so a new generation of enthusiasts have something else to start with (and not some i3 replica).
i think that a cheap, accurate, upgradable 3d printer could actually make a difference.

...but it's just my 2c ;)
