I have been thinking about adding a filament sensor. Found a few ideas/options. Started with just looking for one to pause the print then found one that measures it. Anyone using one they would suggest or have feedback on these?

With this sensor on your 3D printer or filament extruder you no longer have to deal with calibrating for filament diameter. to improve the resolution of the OWI sensor for 1.75mm filament, you need to turn the sensor 45 degrees so that it measures the filament on a diagonal. You then get a ~40% improvement in resolution. Of course, this makes it a bit slower at detecting rapid filament diameter changes.
Both the toy builder sensor and the OWI sensor can detect "out of filament" but there is no current way for the OWI to detect stopped filament, which is the toy builder's primary purpose in my printer.
