  1. Grbl v0.9 is officially released! Crazy performance improvements, rock-solid stability, independent axes settings, and probing! Get it now!

  2. We have relicensed GRBL using the "business friendly" MIT license.

  3. Happy T-day! Grbl v0.8 now officially released. Homing, pause/resume, 6 work coordinate systems, hard limits, state feedback, and tons more!

  4. G54 coordinate system (+G10,G92.1) now available on GRBL edge branch. Up to 6 (+G59) available as compile-time option. Please report bugs!

We used Illustrator and Cut2D from Vectric. Look into Inkscape. I think it runs on ubuntu too

  7. In reply to

Nice! Let me know how it works for you!

  8. In reply to

That's very odd. I know the lasersaur-people are using edge with no reported problems. Could you post a short video?

  9. In reply to

yay! Let me know how it works for you! Video, perhaps?!

  10. In reply to

we use the ruby-script stream.rb included in the github reportasje. Simple stuff, has done the job for more than a year.

  11. @aaronzhangyu great! Post a video once you get to milling!

  12. I just merged a chunk of new code into the 'edge' branch. Serial transmission is now asynchronous.

  13. And while we were busy moving house, MIT released a snap fit GRBL driven mill. Oh, MIT. Much love.

  14. The Grbl development hiatus is coming to an end. Warming up we committed a few tweaks requested by the Grbl shield team

  15. GRBL in the wild: Milling PCBs at MIT using the MTM Snap Desktop Mill.

  16. We just bought our first house, so there is no time left! Grbl-development is on hiatus until june. http://is.gd/5JImZJ

  17. Have you checked out the grblShield yet? It turns your Arduino into a 3-axis CNC controller on the cheap. Ingenious: http://cot.ag/dI4AJZ

  18. Just stumbled across this: has a nice writeup on using Grbl with Windows 7.

  19. Synthetos launched their Grbl-shield today. I can't wait to get my hands on one!

  20. Got the latest acceleration-Grbl working for old 168-based arduinos too by dropping support for arcs.

  21. I am releasing accelleration-Grbl now. For early adoptors using the experimental branch: You may now return to 'master'.

  22. Going to do a lot of testing today, but very confident. It seems to me that acceleration-Grbl is 99% production ready.

  23. New code in the acceleration-branch after testing on real hardware. The cutting edge code works as of this patch:

  24. Refactoring and two important bugfixes tonight. Purged old code. Wish I could do the same to Mr. Mubarak. rm -rf!

  25. Finally gotten some time with acceleration-Grbl on the physical mill. Pushed lots of fixes: Getting ready for release!

  26. Here is the branch: ready for testing on real CNC hardware.

  27. Finally! As of my latest commit Grbl has sweet acceleration management built in. Welcome fast feed rates and bye bye jerky corners.

  28. In reply to

The look ahead manager is not enabled yet, but with a little luck the first complete version will hit the githubs tonight.

  29. I'm seeing nice trapezoid speed profiles on the scope. Now to debug the jerk-easing and look ahead algorithm. Smooth, rapid milling ahead!

  30. A new control unit for Grbl + two new expermental branches for real time controls and acceleration management. http://is.gd/yYY7FC

  31. Completed support for rapid motion (G0) with separate feed rate in the bugfixes-branch. http://is.gd/ddasT

  32. The prebuild binaries was built with the wrong baud-setting (115200). New 9600 baud binaries up on github. http://is.gd/dd6s4
